To install the APK directly, you may need to enable “Install from unknown sources” for your browser or file manager in your device settings.

  1. Open the Remoki desktop app and go to Settings → Pairing.

  2. Open the Remoki Android app and tap Scan QR Code.

  3. Point your camera at the QR code on your desktop screen.

  4. You’ll see a “Paired successfully” confirmation.

  1. In any app (browser, reader, messaging app), select some Japanese text.

  2. Tap Share and choose Remoki from the share sheet.

  3. Review the text in the overlay, then tap Send.

  4. The text is sent to the server and will be picked up by your desktop app within seconds.

Open the app and tap the gear icon to access settings.

  • Pairing — pair or re-pair with your desktop app.
  • Device Name — set a custom name for this device (defaults to “Android”). This name is sent along with mined text and can be used by the desktop app to automatically tag cards by device. See Desktop App — Tags for details.

  3. Point your camera at the QR code on your desktop screen.

  4. You’ll see a “Paired successfully” confirmation.

Open the app and go to Settings.

  • Pairing — pair or re-pair with your desktop app.
  • Device Name — set a custom name for this device (defaults to “iOS”). This name is sent along with mined text and can be used by the desktop app to automatically tag cards by device. See Desktop App — Tags for details.

  • No need to open the app first — both apps work as share extensions that are available system-wide.
  • Multiple devices — you can pair multiple phones to the same desktop account. Give each device a unique name in settings to differentiate cards by source.
  • Offline queuing — if your desktop isn’t running, text is safely stored on the server. It will be processed the next time your desktop app comes online.
  • Edit before sending (Android) — the share overlay lets you edit the text before sending, so you can trim or adjust the selection.
